The WWII Drama took in an estimated $14.3 million, putting it on track to win the weekend box office take which could amount to about $36 million in all.
Shorts, a Robert Rodriguez’s kids film, didn’t fare too well only earning Warner Bros. an estimated $2 million, and giving it the sixth slot.
District 9 suffered severely at the hands of “inglourious Basterds” with $5.5 million in sales which was down 61% from opening day.
The Time Traveler’s Wife came in fourth at the box office with $3.3 million.
