Jason Priestley's 40th Birthday Bash!

Former "Beverly Hills, 90210" heartthrob Jason Priestley celebrated his big 40 in Las Vegas this Friday night.
The actor whisked 30 of his closest friends and family members off to Tabu Ultra Lounge. Jason walked the red carpet in a charcoal gray suit with his wife, Naomi Lowde-Priestley, who was sporting a form-fitting black satin dress -- and they were mobbed by fans seeking photos and autographs!

Other celebs on hand for the fun included friends Kristy Swanson ('Buffy the Vampire Slayer') and Max Martini ("The Unit," "CSI: Miami").

Once inside Tabu Ultra Lounge, Jason and his entourage chilled in the VIP area next to the DJ booth, hit the dance floor and, of course, celebrated with a special birthday cake.

Foul play ruled out in the death of DJ AM

A spokesman for the New York Police Department has said foul play is not a suspect in the death of disc jockey DJ AM at his New York Apartment.

The New York Times said the body of DJ AM, whose real names was Adam Goldstein, was found in his Soho apartment on late Friday afternoon by emergency officials responding to a 911 call from a concerned friend.

An unidentified official said a crack cocaine pipe and unspecified prescription drugs were found near Goldstein's body.

Goldstein admitted in a 2007 interview that he previously had problems dealing with drugs like crack cocaine, but had since made positive changes in his life.

"At my core I am a glutton, so I've had to learn everything in moderation," DJ AM told the Times in 2007.

Goldstein was among the passengers on board a Learjet that crashed in South Carolina on Sept. 19, 2008. The crash, which left Goldstein and Blink-182 rocker Travis Barker seriously injured, and four others dead.

Singer Taylor remembers Ted Kennedy

Singer James Taylor took time during his performance at Tanglewood this week to remember U.S. Sen. Edward "Ted" M. Kennedy. The late Sen. Kennedy was a supporter of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Tanglewood Music Center.

Taylor remembered the fallen U.S. senator from Massachusetts as a former Boston Symphony Orchestra trustee and a fan of Tanglewood music.

Taylor also told those in attendance Thursday night at the Lenox, Mass., site the late Democratic politician played an integral role in the development of Seiji Ozawa Hall by the orchestra.

After Taylor shared the kind words about Kennedy, who died of brain cancer Tuesday at the age of 77, the "Fire and Rain" singer offered a rendition of "Shed a Little Light" in honor of the late politician.

California Governor's Conference for Woman

Due to the loss of her son, Actress Kelly Preston says she will be unable to speak at the California Governor's Conference for Woman, the grief is too overwhelming.
Preston said that she would be unable to take part in the October conference's "Grief & Resilience" panel because she is not prepared to discuss the loss of her 16-year-old son Jett, People.com reported Friday.
"It is with my sincere apologies that I must pull out from speaking at (the) conference. I am sorry, but I truly believed that I could do it," Preston said in a statement. "Otherwise I never would have said that I could. But I am still deeply in the process of healing, and it's just too soon."
The death of the 46-year-old actress' son on Jan. 2 in the Bahamas has been attributed to a seizure.
Journalist Maria Shriver, who is hosting the conference, said in a statement she understands Preston's decision.
"I know how hard it was for Kelly to make this decision and she has my complete support and understanding. Everyone has their own path to healing and their own timetable for grieving," said Shriver, who lost her mother, Eunice Kennedy, and uncle, U.S. Sen. Edward Kennedy, this month

Madonna compelled to defend Gypsies

Madonna got boo'd for defending the Gypsies and of course it has to become a big issue...

Madonna's publicist says the U.S. pop singer felt compelled to speak out at a concert in Bucharest, Romania, about the plight of Gypsies in Eastern Europe. Which I say, good for her. She believes in equal rights for all.

The recording artist was met with boos when she preached tolerance of the minority group, known also as Roma, at a gig this week.

The BBC reported Madonna's spokeswoman, Liz Rosenberg, explained the entertainer made the remarks after learning of the prejudice Romany people experience in Eastern Europe.

"Madonna has been touring with a phenomenal troupe of Roma musicians who made her aware of the discrimination toward them in several countries, so she felt compelled to make a brief statement," Rosenberg said.

"I jeered her because it seemed false what she was telling us. What business does she have telling us these things?" 23-year-old concertgoer Ionut Dinu told the British network.

As I usually say, F'm if they don't like it, and I think my friend Madonna would say the same thing... so I felt the picture in this post was appropriate...

DJ AM's personal Struggles - Unfortunate Death

DJ AM was admired and loved by many. Recently he suffered a tramatic breakup with his girlfriend, Hayley Wood, which added to the personal pain and struggle he was currently undergoing after he survived a tragic plane crash. The plane crash left DJ AM with suvivor guilt.

According to reports, Wood ended the relationship within the last week and that since then, "he was keeping to himself, and he was blowing people off."

DJ AM was already having a very hard time dealing with post-traumatic stress from the plane crash he barely survived in September of last year. Four others died in that crash.

In an interview with People,  Goldstein said that he was asleep in the plane when "the next thing I remember is us crashing into something ... I woke up to Travis screaming and the plane engulfed in flames. I remember thinking it was like 'Miami Vice,' where a car is on fire and you run before the gas tank explodes - we gotta get out of here!"

Goldstein was badly burned in the crash. "My eyebrows and layers of skin were burned off my face ... My forehead was gouged and my arm had skin hanging off. I was in shock and didn't feel anything," he said.

DJ AM, real name Adam Goldstein, was found dead in his apartment on Friday in New York City. He was 36. According to reports, drug paraphernalia including a glass crack pipe was found at the scene and Goldstein hadn't been seen or heard from in several days.

Goldstein had struggled with drug abuse in the past, but had been sober for years.

Our thoughs and prayers are with Goldsteins friends and family. Today is a sad day for all.

Pictured below, the plane crash photo which DJ AM survived.

Happy Birthday MJ - R.I.P.

Jackson's Death Officially a Homicide

Michael Jackson's death has officially been ruled a homicide, as the Los Angeles County Coroner has released a partial report on the King of Pop's death. The report cites "acute propofol intoxication" as the main cause of Jackson's death, officially linking the powerful anesthetic to his demise.

The report also lists "benzodiazepine effect" as another factor that contributed to his death, due to the drugs midazolam, diazepam, lidocaine and ephedrine being found in his system as well.

In unsealed warrant documents that were released this week, it was noted that Jackson's doctor, Dr. Conrad Murray, admitted to giving the pop star 50 milligrams of propofol a night for a long period of time, but cut his dose to 25 milligrams.
According to TMZ, someone of Jackson's body size would need about 400 milligrams of propofol to sleep for 8 hours, which would amount to 16 times the dosage that Murray claims he gave Jackson.
Though the death has been ruled a homicide, that doesn't technically mean a crime was committed or that charges against others are guaranteed. It simply means that someone else's involvement played a role in the death. Others causes of death a coroner can use are: natural, suicide, accident, and "could not be determined."

Chris Brown's Mom Not Ashamed of Him

Days after Chris Brown was formally sentenced for beating Rihanna, his mother finally addressed fans about the ordeal. "I just want to say from the bottom of my heart thank you for your continued support. I'm sorry I wasn't allowed to speak to anyone as this case was ongoing," Joyce Hawkins wrote on TheChrisBrownFanClub.com.

"I can now say this has been the most painful moment in my entire life, but knowing that you were still standing by Chris' side in his time of need made this a little easier for us," she added.

"Because of all your prayers, God brought him through," Hawkins continued. "I just want to say God has never failed me and never will. All moms and dads please stand by your children and pray for their goodness each and every day," she said.

Her statement continued, "I made a promise. I would never be ashamed of him no matter where I am or who I talk to. You see this whole thing isn't about Chris, it's about God. He wants to show all of you the goodness of him through Chris. Chris will be addressing all of his fans very soon. We love you so much and so does God."

Earlier this week, a judge ordered Brown to serve five years probation and perform six months of community service for his role in the February attack. Brown was also ordered to stay 100 yards away from Rihanna during the period of his probation.

Brown assaulted Rihanna during Grammy weekend in February, reportedly punching and beating her inside of his car after an argument. He was arrested hours after the incident, and plead guilty to a felony assault charge in June.

This summer, Brown apologized to fans, saying what he did "was inexcusable," but promised to learn from his mistakes.

John Krasinski Pops The Question

Rumor has it that John Krasinski, star of 'The Office', will be walking down the aisle with his girlfriend actress Emily Blunt, who he has been dating since Novemeber of 2008.
John's Rep told people, "We can confirm that John and Emily are engaged,"
The two started dating shortly after Blunt split from Canadian singer Michael Buble in July 2008 after three years of dating.
The couple have kept their relationship under wraps, arriving separately to award shows and events including a double date with Blunt's 'The Devil Wears Prada' costar Anne Hathaway and her beau Adam Shulman.

Miley Cyrus: 'I'm Far From Perfect'

Miley Cyrus heads to New York...

Teen sensation Miley Cyrus braved the rain in New York City Friday morning for a short, outdoor concert tied to an appearance on 'Today.'

The singer strutted her stuff in a blazer and jeans - slightly more conservative than her controversial appearance at the recent Teen Choice Awards - singing a few tunes from her upcoming album and discussing the pressure on her to be perfect in the public eye.

"I'm not here to say I'm perfect 'cause I'm far from it," Cyrus said.

"My mistakes are kind of a little bit harder because they are in front of millions and millions of people," she added. "It's hard sometimes to smile about it, but it also makes you want to try harder the next time."

The pop star also discussed her album, being released Monday at Wal-Mart stores. "This album was a step towards my next album. I want to be able to step out and maybe take a break for a while and write music that inspires me," she said. "I think there's always a formula ... I think the best way to do that is put it out of the way and do something new."

The (Not So) Dirty Secrets of Hugh Hefner

When you thin about 'Playboy', the name Hugh Hefner comes to mind. Hugh is the founder of 'Playboy' and has become equally famous for his racy publication as his simultaneous relationships with young, blond women and the raucous parties held at his Playboy Mansion.

The 83-year-old ladies' man has a huge history of putting his money where his mouth is, politically speaking.

"One of the things I find really curious is when people say I've lived an amoral life," says the paterfamilias of the Playboy dynasty. "From my perspective, it's quite the contrary. I feel I've lived a very moral life. I've been on the side of angels from the beginning."

'Hugh Hefner: Playboy, Activist and Rebel,' a documentary premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival next month, shows the deeper side of Hugh Hefner - civil rights activist and political ally of women and gays. See highlights from his interview with the Daily Beast below.

"This film has less to do with the lifestyle and more to do with my commitment to social change," Hefner says of the documentary by Oscar award-winning filmmaker Brigitte Berman.

She adds, "When people think of him, they think of the babes, the boobs, the blondes. There's another side to him, one I think is too often overlooked."

Hefner was a champion of civil rights from the very beginning of the movement. He says, "I graduated from the University of Illinois in 1948, and there were the beginnings of racial integration. There were student protests against restaurants and movie theaters that had segregation, and I took part in some of those protests." Later, when he learned that two of the Southern franchises of his Playboy nightclubs were segregated, he bought back the outlets at his own expense to integrate them.

Hefner also supported gay rights at a time when the concept was nearly unheard of in mainstream America. Playboy published a short, science fiction piece wherein homosexuality was the norm and heterosexuals were considered socially deviant. The story was originally turned down by Esquire, Hefner explains, and recalls the numerous angry letters the magazine received in response. The magazine ran a rebuttal suggesting that "if it was wrong to persecute heterosexuals in a homosexual society, then the reverse was wrong too."

"Without question, love in its various permutations is what we need more of in this world," says Hefner now. "The idea that the concept of marriage will be sullied by same-sex marriage is ridiculous. Heterosexuals haven't been doing that well at it on their own."

And while a significant faction of self-identified feminists find his body of work - and his lifestyle - objectionable, Hefner believes his career has been an instrument of liberation for women. "I was so blindsided when the more conservative feminists attacked me. I didn't know what that was all about," he says. "I thought we were always fighting the good fight and on the same side. In fact, we were the amicus curiae in the Roe v. Wade case. I always found it strange that the feminist movement would consider sex the enemy, since it seems one of the major ways that women have been held in subjugation historically is through sexuality."
"Our TV show, 'The Girls Next Door,' is hugely popular, primarily with women," he adds. "Some women wear the rabbit on clothing with great pride. I think that would have been unthinkable 20 years ago."

Adam Lambert reveals album details...

In an interview with People.com, Adam Lambert revealed details of his upcoming debut album.

According to the Idol runner-up, the debut will be “quite eclectic.” Says Lambert, “There are songs on there that are anthems; there are songs that make you want to dance; there are songs that make you feel sexy; there are songs that touch you, hopefully, with more emotional, insightful, deeper lyrics…There are songs that are more in the line with a rock sound. There are some that are really pop-oriented.”

Lambert has already made headway on the album—the singer says he’s halfway finished with the record, and has already done a photo shoot. “I can’t wait to see people’s reaction. It’s just going to be fun,” he told People.com.

The Talented Mr. Damon Gets Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011.

Matt Damon who is only 38 years old has just been tapped to receive his first lifetime achievement honor, the American Cinematheque Award. A great honor for such a young Actor. I personally think he deserves it just for his roles in the Bourne Trilogy.

According to Variety, Damon has agreed to accept the award in person, leading ABC to schedule the kudoscast for prime time. AMC had hosted the event the past four years.
The actor will have to wait a while, though—the Cinematheque folks have decided to push the ceremony from its usual October birth to March 27, 2010, so it doesn't get lost in the shuffle of awards season. Consequently, the honor will technically be skipped in 2009.
Damon, who won an Oscar over a decade ago for penning Good Will Hunting (which he also starred in), has gone on to headline several Hollywood blockbusters, including Ocean's Eleven and its sequels and the Bourne trilogy.
His performances have also been heralded in such films as The Talented Mr. Ripley, Saving Private Ryan, All the Pretty Horses, Syriana, The Departed and The Good Shepherd.
The Cinematheque award is given out annually to artists who are "committed to making a significant contribution to the art of the motion pictures."
Past honorees include Samuel L. Jackson, who was lauded last year, Julia Roberts, George Clooney, Al Pacino, Steve Martin, Nicole Kidman, Denzel Washington and Jodie Foster.

Sigourney Weaver on Pole Dancing and Prop 8 - Listen UP!

Sigourney Weaver is giving you a run for your pole-dancing money. The Alien actress, 59, reveals that she not only dances the samba but also gets down with a pole in 'You Again', her upcoming comedy costarring Kristen Bell, Jamie Lee Curtis and Betty White.

"I didn't learn that at Yale [School of Drama]," she laughed with reporters during a recent media set visit to the movie. "Although it would have been useful."

No, Weaver does not strip down to, well, stripper clothes. "I wear the same thing [I did] for the samba," she said. "I have a little kind of Carmen Miranda costume."

On a more serious note, Weaver said she's been "very heartened" by the response she's received for Prayers for Bobby. Her role in the Lifetime movie, in which she plays a Bible-thumping mother whose son kills himself because he's gay, earned her an Emmy nomination.

If you have not seen the Lifetime movie 'Prayers for Bobby', I suggest you take the time to view it. I personally cried at the end of the movie, which does not happen very often. This true story should be told to all to promote tolerance and understanding.

Thank you Sigourney for your outstanding performance in the role you played.

"A lot of parents come up to me on the street and say how much they appreciate the film," Weaver said.

It may be hard to tell whether Prayers has had an impact on the way people think about gay marriage.

"I was very disheartened because I love the movie and I do think it will do some good, but when I read that the poll numbers in California hadn't changed at all since the referendum, I was just shocked."

But Weaver was encouraged to learn recently that one of the two lawyers fighting the legality of Prop 8's ban on same-sex unions in California is well-known Republican attorney Ted Olson.

"The fact that there is even a Republican saying, 'This is completely illegal, everybody has equal rights to happiness,' it's like, 'Oh good! I thought the world was round, and it is!' " Weaver said.

Danza - Teacher in Philly? More reality TV??? UGH!

Tony Danza participate in an orientation session to prepare for his new teaching role in the Philadelphia School District in Pennsylavnia.

His experiences reportedly will be captured in a new A&E reality show called "Teach."

Just what we need, another tired actor in a reality show. Hmmm, let's see, will I tune in to a reality show about Tony Danza as a Teacher. Ah, NO!

The Philadelphia Inquirer reported the 58-year-old actor is not certified, so he will share a classroom at Northeast High School with a more experienced instructor while he helps teach English.

So, how did Danza feel about his new career path?

"Scared," he admitted to the Inquirer.

"It takes a certain amount of hubris that you think you might be able to do this. I'm determined."

Danza is best known for his performances in the sit-coms "Taxi" and "Who's the Boss?" He also was the host of his own chat show, which ran two seasons.

The students go back to school Sept. 8.

Shania Twain Set to Marry Her Husband's Mistress' Ex...

Standing around the water cooler, I heard a rumor that Shania Twain is planning to wed Frederic Thiebaud. Frederic just happens to be the ex-husband of her former best friend Marie-Anne who had an affair with her husband Robert John "Mutt" Lange.
The Star Magazine was the first to report the story claiming Shania and Frederic have been spotted sporting matching promise rings while spending some quality time at her secluded cottage of Lake of Bays in the Muskoka region of Ontario recently.

Shania and Frederic, according to a source, "have been discussing wedding plans all summer and hope to tie the knot next year." Another insider chimes in, "Frederic's the only person Shania trusts outside of her family. She feels so lucky to have found him." In the meantime, no possible wedding date and venue have been shared with the press just yet.

Shania Twain had her spokesman confirming last May that she and record producer husband Robert John "Mutt" Lange are divorcing. The two, who have been married since December 28, 1993, are parents to an eight-year-old son named Eja Lange.

Earlier this week, Shania was forced to deny rumors of her getting engaged to Frederic Thiebaud. Her representative insisted, "She is not engaged".

Official, Kris Allen's Debut Album - November 17

Is the rumor true? Kris Allen to release his debut album across the US on Nov 17th. Well according to Kris' Tweet on Twitter, the "American Idol" season 8 winner will release his album finally.
"Hey guys! The album is set to release Nov 17th," Kris wrote on Twitter.
The singer who is currently on tour for Top 10 Idol summer roadshow didn't spill the beans on the record's working title.
Also, not much is known about who will be working with Kris for the album.

Various reports in the media claim he teams up with The Fray's guitarist Joe King and also gets helping hands from acclaimed producers Salaam Remi (Nas, Amy Winehouse) and Claude Kelly (Leona Lewis, Akon).

Rebecca Gayheart and Eric Dane Reportedly Expecting a Child??

Despite the leaked threesome tape, which apparently was just three consenting adults having fun, Rebecca Gayheart and Eric Dane have a little one in the oven.
A source close to them told In Style Magazine, "Having a baby has been a top priority of the past six months," says the insider. "She turned down the role of Penn Badgley's mother on 'Gossip Girl' because it was based in N.Y.C. and she didn't want to be away from Eric or travel that far. It was bad for her health."
Besides, Rebecca "also turned down a Hallmark movie and a Lifetime movie because she was trying to have a baby", adds the insider.
There has been no comment made by either Rebecca herself or Eric if the pregnancy report run by Life and Style is true or not.
Last week, a nude video of Rebecca Gayheart, Eric Dane, and former Miss Teen USA Kari Ann Peniche was leaked. The footage showed the threesome videotaping themselves naked while discussing their porn names. Investigation is currently underway as the Los Angeles Police Department suspects that a possible "criminal activity" might take part in the leak of the infamous threesome tape.

Kristin Chenoweth Coming to 'American Idol'

Kristin Chenoweth seemed to run into some bad luck when the show "Pushing Daisies" met a dead end this summer. Kristin is filling up her time doing guest appearances and a recurring role. She has been hired to make a cameo on Fox's new show "Glee" as well as a guest judge on "American Idol".

As we all know, "American Idol" has been scrambling to find guest judges since Paula Abdul decided not to return this season due to contract disputes. I personally would say contract insult, but that's an entirely diffrent story.

In "Idol", she will sit in the judging panel for the Orlando auditions later this week. Chenoweth is involved in the music world, being cast in several musical Broadway plays. She won a Tony award for portraying Sally Brown in "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown."

As for her "Glee" stint, it's revealed that Chenoweth will appear in episode four as April Rhodes. As dished out by E!, her character "turns out to be quite the alcoholic and bad influence on the glee club members." The musical show itself will be premiered on September 9.

Chenoweth is a talent star and I'm glad to know that I will see more of her. Can't wait to see her in Orlando while she is guest judging on "American Idol".

Eddie Cibrian Asks for Privacy Amid Divorce

Eddie Cibrian issued a statement yesterday asking for privacy while he is proceeding with a divorce from his wife Brandi Glanville after 8 years of marriage. Eddie stated that he will stay committed to his two young sons Mason Edward and Jake Austin.

"From the outset I have made a conscious decision to try and keep this matter private and not discuss it in the press. While my wife and I are dissolving our marriage, we will work together to parent our two children," read Eddie's statement. "I love my boys very much. I want only the best for them and am committed to being a devoted father."

"I will continue to be respectful and sensitive to this issue by not doing interviews about this ongoing private matter. I wish everyone would do the same," read the end of the statement.

Eddie has claimed irreconcilable differences as the cause of the split from his wife. Did it have anything to do with LeAnn Rimes and 'Northern Nights'? Guess we will never know... Best of luck to all.

Are Avril Lavigne and hubby Deryck Whibley going to call it quits? According to the New York Daily News, the two musicians are on a fast track for seperations.

Last weekend in the Southampton, Avril was spotted out and about partying hard and hanging out with a number of male companions at a celebrity eatery Georgica.

"She wanted to get away from Deryck and have a weekend to herself," a source close to Avril tells New York Daily News.

Jordin Sparks Hints to Sing at Kevin Jonas' Wedding

Invitations for Kevin Jonas' possible winter wedding have not even been printed yet Jordin Sparks has already told MTV in an interview, "So, maybe I'll get invited, and if I don't, it's OK", adding, "Maybe I'll be their wedding singer - who knows? That would be crazy."
Kevin Jonas proposed to fiancee Danielle Deleasa and wedding plans are currently underway.
And Jordin said she has had in mind on what song to sing at the affair, telling the entertainment network "I'd sing 'Lovebug' ... I'm just kidding." She was quick to add, "Actually, my friend Gina from 'Idol' got married, and she asked me to sing at her wedding, and she had me sing 'I Want To Hold Your Hand,' but the one from 'Across the Universe'. It's a lot slower and a lot more different, so I might sing that."
Above all Jordin has nothing but praise and best wishes for Kevin and Danielle. She said, "I know that she comes in and she'll be on the tour for a little while, and you can just really tell that they're in love. And they're so cute, so all the congratulations. I love you guys. You're amazing."
Jordin Sparks is the winner of "American Idol" season 6. She's been friends with Kevin Jonas as well as his famous brothers Joe Jonas and Nick Jonas and touring with the Jonas Brothers over the summer.

Vermont Governor to step down in 2010

Republican Vermont Gov. Jim Douglas announced Thursday he will not seek re-election, putting the state in the category of competitive races in 2010.
Douglas, 58, who is serving his fourth two-year term, told a news conference at Montpelier he will not seek another political office, The Washington Post reported.
"It's been the great privilege of my life to serve the people of this state that I love so well," Douglas said. "But as any farmer knows after many years of working sunup to sundown, seven days a week, there comes a time to turn over the reins to fresh arms. For me, that time is approaching."
Lt. Gov. Brian Dubie is a Republican, but it's unclear whether he wants to run for the state's top job.
"The governor's announcement today changes the political landscape in Vermont. As Vermonters reflect on this new landscape, I will contemplate my options. Right now, I will focus on doing my job," Lt. Gov. Brian Dubie said.
Dubie was noncommittal regarding his role in the 2010 gubernatorial race, the newspaper said.

"America's Got Talent" judge David Hasselhoff has agreed to sing "Feeling Good" during the upcoming semifinals show, NBC said.

The episode is to air Wednesday.

The final five acts rounding out the Top 20 -- the group advancing to the semifinals and one step closer to the $1 million prize and headlining in Las Vegas -- were revealed Wednesday night, the network noted.

In addition to serving as judge on the program, Hasselhoff is a popular recording artist and actor, best known for his work on TV's "Knight Rider" and "Baywatch."

Piven Prevails in Contract Dispute

Jeremy Piven lost a role in a Broadway show to mercury poisoning, but he won the contract dispute over his abrupt departure. Months after Piven was forced to abandon his role in 'Speed-the-Plow,' a professional arbiter has ruled Piven did not his breach his contract with the Broadway producers for leaving the revival of the David Mamet play.

In December, Piven's doctor said the actor was suffering from mercury poisoning after eating too much fish.

Piven says in a statement that he's pleased with the outcome and says he's been vindicated.

The producers, meanwhile, expressed disappointment. They says they respect the decision, but strongly disagree with it.

At the time of Piven's departure, playwright David Mamet told Daily Variety, "I talked to Jeremy on the phone, and he told me that he discovered that he had a very high level of mercury. So my understanding is that he is leaving show business to pursue a career as a thermometer."

Piven is also known for playing Hollywood agent Ari on "Entourage."

Madonna Booed in Bucharest by Band of Gypsy Haters

Thousands of Romanian concertgoers made their displeasure known with Madonna on Wednesday, after the singer paused her show to speak out against the persecution of Gypsies in that corner of Europe.

"It's been brought to my attention that there's a lot of discrimination against Romani and Gypsies in general in eastern Europe, and that makes me very sad," she told the crowd of 60,000 in Bucharest. As she spoke, a vocal minority began booing her words. She did not acknowledge the jeers. Watch video after the jump.

When she proclaimed, "We believe in freedom and equal rights for everyone!", you can actually hear people yelling "No!", however the cheers of approving fans eventually drowned out the grumbling.

Many of the dancers and musicians in Madonna's show were Gypsies, also known as Roma.
According to the Associated Press, there are some 500,000 Roma in Romania, but the real number could total around 2 million. They have long faced prejudice and discrimination in eastern European nations.

Kelly Osbourne's Addiction to Vicodin

Kelly Osbourne became addicted to Vicodin by the time she was 17, she has revealed. In her new book 'Fierce,' Osbourne reveals she was prescribed the pill and was soon taking up to 50 tablets a day because it gave her the confidence to cope with the new-found fame during filming of MTV's 'The Osbournes.'

"By this point I was waking up and emptying six Vicodin into my hand. Soon I was taking 50 pills a day. Most people would overdose on 10. My friends called me 'Noddy' because I fell asleep all the time," she said.

Osbourne also reveals the addiction only got worse when her mother Sharon was diagnosed with cancer. "My parents suspected. Mum would say, 'Darling, are you taking something? Please tell your mummy.' But I was good at lying," she said.

The reality TV star, who has been in rehab four times, admits she first experienced the effects of the strong opiate when she had her tonsils taken out at 13 and admits she enjoyed the feeling it gave her.

However, Kelly's parents, Sharon and legendary heavy metal hellraiser Ozzy Osbourne, soon discovered their daughter was lying and sent her to Malibu's Promises clinic to get help.

Although she spent 30 days there receiving treatment, Osbourne admits she wasn't ready to beat her addiction and did a further three stints in different rehab centers with the last one finally making her realize she had a serious problem. "After 30 days, I left rehab. For the first time, I felt hopeful. I knew I'd been given another chance at my life, at my career, at happiness. I wanted to grab it," she said.

'Hung' Star Heche Hangs Ex Out to Dry

Anne Heche, who stars on the HBO show 'Hung,' appeared on 'David Letterman' last night -- to the detriment of her ex-husband, Coley Laffoon.

When asked to reveal her thoughts on her estranged ex, she replied "Can you say 'lazy ass' on TV?"
Watch It

"He goes out to the mailbox and he opens up the little mailbox door and goes, 'Oh! I got a check from Anne! Oh! I got a check from Anne! Yay!' " she said of what Laffoon does for a living.

Heche and Laffoon went through a bitter divorce and custody battle, and although they reached a settlement six months ago, it rages on. The couple have a 7-year-old son together.

Heche's Ex Responds to 'Letterman' Jabs

Coley Laffoon thinks Anne Heche was being "mean" when she criticized him on 'The Late Show With David Letterman,' so the actress' estranged husband is firing back on Usmagazine.com and his Facebook page.

"After coming home from showing two different clients two different condominiums, I was disturbed to see Anne taking out her personal frustration on the father of her child on national television," he tells Us.

Laffoon also took to his Facebook profile to express his displeasure. "I wish Anne Heche could see that public bullying isn't good for the soul or positive for her child. It's mean," he wrote as his status.

Heche called her ex a "lazy ass" on the talk show and insinuated that all he does for a living is collect her child support.

"He goes out to the mailbox and he opens up the little mailbox door and goes, 'Oh! I got a check from Anne! Oh! I got a check from Anne! Yay!" she said.

Lindsay Lohan's Burglary Caught on Tape!

New evidence has surfaced in the Lindsay Lohan burglary case. Police have released the survelience tape, and detectives believe the trio entered through an unlocked door and took personal items belonging to the actress. LAPD describe the suspects as being between the ages of 18-25 -- one white male and two white females. And it seems like Lohan may know the suspects.

Lohan sent out a Twitter message yesterday -- and it looks like her robbers might be old friends. "That's how i know it was not a ROBBERY. electronics weren't taken... just things that a certain old friend knew meant a lot to me."

Do you think if could have been her old flame?? Samantha? Collecting her stuff?

A law enforcement officer said Lohan was shown a picture of the man who broke into her place and said he "looked familiar."

Mischa Barton: I Hit 'Rock Bottom'

After being placed under psychiatric hold for a month, Mischa Barton is coming clean about her hospitalization. Blaming her hectic schedule and "terrible" wisdom tooth surgery, Barton says her life just got really bad, Time Out New York reports.

"I was down in the dumps about everything there for a while. Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom about things and have to get the most stressed out just to feel better again. I got completely stressed out and couldn't handle everything, and now I feel really in control," Barton revealed.

"I went through a tough spot where everything compounded on me, and it was like a perfect storm, like everything was happening to me at once," she said.

The 'Homecoming' star said before she started filming the CW show 'The Beautiful Life,' she had been traveling abroad "for contract stuff" and then had a wisdom tooth surgery that went wrong and is "still just healing."

"I had to get through it without proper painkillers because I couldn't take those during work," she said of the procedure. "So it's been a nightmare."

Barton denies she had a mental breakdown but says the whole ordeal "was pretty bad." The 23-year-old actress admits, "I'm not sure I'm capable of a full-on nervous breakdown, but it was pretty bad. It didn't last that long. It was more about the pain."

"The funny thing is, if all this happened in New York, no one would care. New York lets you be who you are, and people aren't as judgmental. I'm so glad to be back here," she added.

Michael Jackson Burial Triples in Price

The Jackson family's decision to move Michael's burial from a Saturday to a Thursday is gonna cost some serious dough -- at least three times the original price!

According to the Glendale police, the cost for the weekend service would have ran about $50,000 -- 90% of which goes to police handling street closures, security and perimeter control.

But officials say the Jackson family will now have to fork over "at least triple the price" to contract the cops for a weekday burial.
As for the cemetery, we're told it will be on total lockdown -- with security patrolling from the ground and from the air. At least one police chopper will be keeping an eye from the sky.

And just to prove the cops mean business, Sergeant Tom Lorenz is warning uninvited fans, "Don't even try and come, because you won't even be able to see the green of the Forest Lawn."

Chris Brown Parties Post-Hearing

Chris Brown acted solemn and remorseful while in the courtroom yesterday in Los Angeles after he received his sentence for his February assult on Rihanna. Not so solemn afterwards... Chris was out partying and dancing at a club just hours before the court appearance.

Brown headed straight to Guys & Dolls with a bunch of his friends an bodyguards. He entertained the crowd by dancing to Michael Jackson's 'Dirty Diana'. Shouldn't he have been dancing to Britney Spears 'Womanizer'...

He didn't apprear that he cared that all eyes were on the womaning beater... Hmmm... What a JERK.

A person who witenessed his behavior was quoted saying "He was in a totally good mood, just hanging out with his buddies. Then all of a sudden he decided to put on a little show," the source added. "Everyone went wild."
Earlier that day, a judge ordered Brown to serve five years probation and perform six months of community service for his role in the February attack. The singer will serve out his sentence in his home state of Virginia, and will have to check in frequently with the Los Angeles judge who sentenced him.

Well, the Hogan's are in the news and at it again. Linda Hogan is unhappy that Hulk Hogan has not turned over the Harley Davidson that she was suppose to get from the divorce agreement. Awww... How sad.

Linda says that if Hulk (Terry Bollea) does not give her the Harley, she wants hin to be "incarcerated". Caues it's my bike biatch...

Linda filed a suit in court, stating that claims he failed to pay her $225,000 per their settlement.

"We are proceeding against the Hulk with enforcement and contempt proceedings to make him comply with the marital settlement, whether he likes the agreement or not, and regardless of his stalls, emotional issues and games," her lawyers said in a statement.

A rep for the former pro-wrestler shot back. "Linda will receive everything she is entitled to under the agreement as soon as it is available to give to her."
